Friendship has risen from the secret diary entries of teenage girls and entered the public zeitgeist. The life coaches of the 1980s have since spawned career coaches, weight loss coaches, dating coaches, party coaches and friendship coaches. Over the last decade, there has been a major proliferation of coaches - the nonathletic kind.
